MYO Auditions

Audition 2009-2010

Spring 2010

At this time auditions are made by appointment. Please contact Tonya Fuller at tonya_fuller2000@yahoo.com to set up an audition. We will hold auditions for the 2010-2011 season in late August. Please check back this summer for date and time.

Junior MYO audition requirements:
Currently, we are only taking string instruments. String players should be prepared to play:

a two octave scale of your choice
a two minute solo excerpts
be prepared to play an excerpt chosen by the director for sight-reading
violinists interested in playing in the 1st violin section should be prepared to demonstrate the ability to play in third position.
Tuition for JMYO is $150 for the year. Tuition is due on the first rehearsal of each year. Checks are to be made out to the MU School of Music.

Senior MYO audition requirements:

Strings: Three octave scale of your choice, two minute excerpt of a solo, sight-reading

Winds/Brass: Two octave scale of your choice, two minute excerpt of a solo, sight-reading

Percussion: Auditions are made by special appointment. Be prepared to show skill in performing on timpani, glockenspiel, and xylophone with short excerpts of your choice for each instrument.

Tuition for SMYO is $250 for the year. Tuition is due on the first rehearsal of each year. Checks are to be made out to the MU School of Music.
