Carrie Turner is the Music Director for the Missouri Youth Orchestra under the banner of the University of Missouri. Ms. Turner’s conducting training has taken her from coast to coast working with the top conductors and teachers in the nation including Edward Dolbashian, Kenneth Kiesler, Gustav Meier, Marin Alsop and Michael Jimbo. Her recent work outside of Missouri has led to collaborating with the rising avant garde ensemble Alarm Will Sound for their Carnegie Hall performance and their current recording project “Arhythmia.” Her enthusiasm for teaching and working with children brings an exciting and creative energy to each rehearsal and concert. Currently, Carrie is a freelance musician and regularly performs throughout the Kansas City and Mid-Missouri areas.
